BUZZ AWAY LYMPHOMA (2013)After one our fellow Student Union officers was diagnosed with Lymphoma, our class president wanted to do a charity event to profit the Lymphoma Research Fund. I came up with the idea to do haircuts in the atrium as well as the title, and we effectively raised one-hundred dollars in the atrium.

As being the Major Events Coordinator, I was in charge of planning the 2014 Homecoming Dance and Homecoming Weekend events for the Student Union Programming Board. These events were some of the largest events I've ever done and was one of my 'magus opus' at John Carroll University.
The dance was at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum and hosted almost 700 students, while the other events included a Thursday Night Comedian event with John Stamos ("Uncle Joey" from Full House) with an attendance close to a thousand. On Saturday there was a 'Carroll Casino' event which operated just like you'd imagine with an attendence of over 400 students, family and alumni as well as a Carroll Tailgate with an attendance of over 500. The tailgate held games, prizes and plently of food and was held prior to a John Carroll Football game. On Saturday night we hosted a late night breakfast and bingo event within the cafeteria with an attendance of over 400 students. |
WELCOME BACK CONCERT (2014)As part of the campus return, John Carroll University hosted a Welcome Back Concert Series between 2013-2015. I was in charge of the 2014 Welcome Back Concert which featured country singer Josh Thompson. Over one-thousand students attended the concert (which is about one-third of the school population).
Pictured to the right is the stage and the 'mosh pit' area of the event. A large segment of the lawn had been designed for students while more students hung in the back second of the quad. |
CARROLL FEST (2014)
SNOWfLAKE SWIRL (2014)In 2013, I was executed to plan an alternative dance to the usual Winter Formal. Our previous Winter Formals had been quite costly and had not appealed to a large amount of students. I came up with the 'Snowflake Swirl' which became the replacement for our Winter Formal. The Snowflake Swirl could be a formal or more casual affair for students, was free and was located on campus. This event brought over three-hundred students to the event which was deemed a contemporary record for our winter dance. The Snowflake Swirl is still a January tradition at John Carroll.
GHASTLY GALA (2014)As part of the expansion of our programming, I was given the task of developing and creating a large-scale Halloween event. In the past, the Programming Board's Halloween events had fallen flat, so I decided to run with "The Ghastly Gala", a Halloween Dance on campus which hosted dancing, constests and games. The dance was a success, and hosted over 200 students and was the gem of our October programming. The Ghastly Gala is still being put on to this day!
